Mentor of the project "RED Кiosk Transformer" at the Exhibition of the Balkan Architectural Biennale
Опис
RED Kiosk Transformer is a pop-up installation placed in front of the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy at the University of Banja Luka. It represents a phase in the restoration of the K67 kiosk (designed by Saša Mächtig, 1966), highlighting its key features: modularity, flexibility, prefabrication, and transformability. Inspired by the kiosk’s iconic axonometric diagram, the installation reveals its elements, joints, and materials, offering architecture, design, and engineering students a direct, hands-on learning experience. The project is co-funded by the DANUBE SMALL PROJECT FUND and MB modul.
The installation is the outcome of an international student workshop on the restoration of the K67, developed within the project (Iconic) RED KIOSK – A Journey to Modernist Heritage, part of the xRED experiment under the Erasmus+ APLE Pop-Up Lab Banja Luka. The project is coordinated by the Center for Spatial Research and the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Geodesy at the University of Banja Luka, in partnership with CULTstore Novi Sad, Kobra Arch Brno, and the K67 restoration team in Celje led by Tim Jevšenak. It is supported by the CEEPUS A.B.C.D. network and DOCOMOMO BiH.
